Pop Purse

Last I heard the name of this purse pattern still hadn’t been decided – so for the moment I’m sticking with Pop Purse!

This is essentially a larger, more structured version of the Barrel Purse.  The frame for the Pop Purse is 150mm, so the finished purse is big enough to fit the essentials into it.  I did my test sewing using Kaffe Fassett fabrics for the outside.

Nikki has included some terrific variations in this pattern, as usual.  I did the version with a detachable, structured wrist strap, and made the purse as structured as possible.

These purse patterns are marked as advanced, and they are certainly not for novices – you definitely need to have experience in sewing – but honestly, the instructions are so comprehensive that don’t let the advanced category put you off giving them a go!  Just take your time, read the instructions, and make the simplest versions first.  If you are a quilter, so are used to matching pieces accurately and using quarter inch seams, or a dressmaker used to matching convex and concave seams, you can definitely make this purse.
